Day One

Well, here goes, day one of the blog that I have been telling myself to get sorted for years. I hope it proves to be as therapeutic as some say it will.

It's Friday night, ten to midnight, and I'm lying in bed, sober and alert. Not the Friday Gaj many of you know, granted, but I have an early start tomorrow, catching the 0905hrs flight down to Gatwick. Meeting Rob, heading down to Sussex for what should be a great day with the Family Moore (it always is - wonderful people); then Sunday up to London for Daisy's (my god daughter) christening. I am so honoured that Paul and Nicky asked me.

The christening service itself...well given my total non-belief in any form of god I feel that my vows to said deity may be a tad hypocritical, however, I will make the vows in church to Paul, Nicky and Daisy - I think that way it will work. Am sure the event will be followed by several drinks....must be good, must be good, must be good.

So once that's done another week in the Fun Palace, then the week after a whole week of sailing. We're heading from Troon down to Liverpool, not as exotic or adventurous of some of our other trips, but it will be an epic all the same. Taking the old Glasgow Clipper to meet her 'daughter' returning from the Clipper Round the World Race. Good boat, wonderful crew, old friends, new friends, me throwing up, and a big old sesh when we arrive. And probably during. I shall undoubtedly be adding a few more notes after the journey to fill you all in.

So - beddie byes, weekend in Englandshire, then back to good old Glasgow.
